**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man stemming from an incident at the Timmins Library which occurred on Friday, January 25th.

While completing foot patrols of the downtown core area, a Timmins Police Service officer recognized a local man as being wanted on the strength of an arrest warrant.

The suspect was interviewed by the Timmins Police Service officer who confirmed the identity of the suspect and the validity of the outstanding arrest warrant.

The suspect was arrested and taken into custody without incident.

A search of his person found him to be in possession of a quantity of suspected controlled substances. The suspected controlled substance was secured by the police as an exhibit.

As a result of the incident, Glen CHEECHOO, 48, of Timmins, has been charged with:
– Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

The accused remains in police custody and is currently awaiting a bail hearing at Provincial Court in Timmins this morning to answer to the charge laid against him.
