**SCHUMACHER CUBS NEWS RELEASE**

The Schumacher Cubs Novice hockey team brought home the Silver Medal in last weeks Winter Blast Tournament in Sudbury.  They went undefeated through their round robin games beating French River Rapids in their first game 6 -2, lead by Dominic Jodouin netting a hat trick.  The Cubs also beat Joro Photography 7 – 0 led by Chase Coderre scoring a hat trick and Cole Wilson closing the game with a shut out.  Their 3rd game vs the Nickel Centre Sting was a nail biter with the Cubs coming out on top with a 2 -1 victory which sent them to the semi finals undefeated. 

 

The Cubs came out strong in the their early morning semi final tilt against Walden Nortrax, taking another victory 5 -2, sending them to the Gold medal game against the home town Coniston Flames. 

 

The Cubs continued their strong defensive game in the finals led by Elliotte Robart, Owen Mac Gregor, Owen Legault and Max Guertin, but ultimatley would have to settle for silver as the home town Flames took the final game.
