The ongoing problem of rat populations in Ontario kept pest control experts busy and many homeowners concerned for much of 2018.  The third annual rattiest cities list has just been released by Orkin Canada and if the trend continues the burgeoning rat population is set to be an ongoing challenge this year.

The findings by the country’s largest pest control provider are based on the number of commercial and residential rodent (rats and mice) treatments carried out in 2018. 

The top five rattiest cities in Ontario during 2018:

  1. Toronto
  2. Mississauga
  3. Scarborough
  4. Ottawa
  5. Sudbury

Orkin Canada is reminding homeowners that rodents need only a small hole to gain entry into a property, and vermin can transmit a number of serious diseases.

Homeowners are being urged to check perimeter walls for potential entry points and take preventative action to avoid a number of mischief problems.
