**NORTHERN COLLEGE NEWS RELEASE**

Northern College is pleased to invite prospective students to participate in upcoming Open House event at its Timmins, Haileybury and Moosonee Campuses.
The annual event is designed to give future students a closer look at what Northern College has to offer, highlighting both campus life and student services while offering program specific tours with access to staff and faculty.
 
“Choosing a post-secondary education is one of life’s biggest decisions,” stated welding professor Joshua Fuller. “Prospective students owe themselves a thorough investigation of the programs they’re considering before committing to one institution or another.”
 
With 24 colleges across the province offering hundreds of program options, Northern College understands the importance of providing a tangible look at the unique post-secondary experience it can offer students.
“We may be the smallest of Ontario’s 24 colleges, but there is absolutely no compromise in the quality of the education here,” stated Doug Clark Dean of Sciences & Manager Foundations and Alumni.
 
“Open House is a great opportunity for people to travel in to our campus communities to meet with the program faculty and students who are currently in the program. We also give them a guided tour of our campuses to give them a feel for life at Northern College.”
 
With unique programming choices and pathway partnerships on offer, Northern College remains committed to offering University level education options combined with College calibre hands on, experiential learning opportunities.
 
“Northern College BScN students have the benefit of completing all four years of the program here at Northern College, receiving their BScN degree from Laurentian University through our collaborative partnership,” stated BScN Collaborative Program Coordinator Tanya Spencer-Cameron. “Our BScN program is the only collaboration in the province that allows students to spend all four years at one institution, which supports students through smaller classroom sizes, accessible faculty, diverse clinical experiences and engaging use of technology in both classroom and lab settings.”
 
Northern College will be hosting its Open House in Moosonee on Thursday, April 4th between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. and in Timmins and Haileybury on Saturday, April 6th between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Northern College’s Kirkland Lake Campus will not be hosting an Open House event this year, but is offering prospective students personalized alternatives.
“We’re offering a $100 travel bursary available for those coming to the Kirkland Lake campus from a significant distance and are always available to give individualized tours” stated Fuller. “I suggest working in an outdoor experience while you’re up here, whether it’s snowmobiling or ice fishing while the season lasts!”
