**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has charged a Dryden woman with a number of charges involving a stolen vehicle stemming from an occurrence reported to police on Saturday morning (April 13th)

Responding Timmins Police Service officers took the original complaint and completed an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the theft of a pickup truck.

A suspect was identified to police and the vehicle and suspect were located by police a short while later.

In the process of being arrested, a quantity of a controlled substance was allegedly found among her personal effects.

Additionally, a cursory check revealed that the suspect’s driver’s licence is currently under suspension in the province of Ontario.

As a result of the incident, Lou-Anne HUNT, 34, of Dryden, Ontario, was arrested and has been charged with:
– Theft Over $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Drive While under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

The accused remains in police custody and is awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court to answer to the charges laid against her.
