Representatives from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 88 attended Timmins and District Hospital Tuesday morning to make a generous donation from the 2018 Poppy Campaign proceeds.  Presenting the $5,000 cheque on behalf of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 88 were Bill Pigeon, President, Andrea Villeneuve, 1st Vice-president and Ray Laneville, member.  Accepting the donation, on behalf of the hospital and the Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery division of the Department of Surgery, was Millie Lawlor, Operating Room Registered Nurse, Jason Laneville, acting executive director, TADH Foundation and Barb McCormick, Manager of Donor Relations, TADH Foundation.

Dr. Jean-Luc Ethier noted thanks to “the Legion for supporting the TDH foundation in purchasing this very valuable piece of equipment… called a flexible nasopharyngoscope.  It is used to assess patients’ airways (breathing pathway) in the case of respiratory difficulties, to establish a diagnosis and treatment plan”

“This generous donation will go towards the purchase of this new scope. Its design will help facilitate the quality of patient care the hospital staff provide when examining the nasal and throat anatomy. Stated Jason Laneville, acting Executive Director, TADH Foundation. “The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 88’s continued support means so much; not only to the hospital staff, but to the patients they are helping.”
