**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service is currently investigating a robbery incident which occurred during the early this morning at a convenience store in Schumacher.
At approximately 4:50 a.m. a lone male suspect entered the convenience store wearing clothing in such a way as to disguise his appearance.

The suspect approached the store clerk and demanded money and cigarettes while brandishing a weapon.
The suspect fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and a package of cigarettes.
The immediate area of the store and the building itself remain under containment by the Timmins Police Service at this time to allow for further investigative measures to be completed.
This matter is now under the investigative direction of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Timmins Police Service.


Investigative assistance in terms of K-9 tracking has been provided by the OPP.
The investigation is proceeding at a healthy pace; there is no concern for public safety at this time.
