**NEOFACS NEWS RELEASE**

On Thursday, October 10, 2019, North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services (NEOFACS) is once again teaming up with the Timmins Fire Department and Timmins Food Bank to host the second annual “Fill the Fire Truck” Food Drive and BBQ, in hopes of recruitment potential foster parents and ensuring families in need don’t go hungry this Thanksgiving.

Community members are being encouraged to come out to Dailey’s Your Independent Grocer on Algonquin from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to donate canned goods and non-perishable food items, in hopes of “Filling a Fire Truck.” Sparky the Fire Dog will be making a guest appearance to help collect donations.

Hots dogs, hamburgers and beverages will also be available for purchase by donation. All proceeds from the event will be going to the Timmins Food Bank. The event kicks off NEOFACS’ Foster Family Appreciation Week celebrations, which takes place the third full week of October every year. Foster Family Appreciation Week raises awareness about foster care and aims to celebrate and appreciate the invaluable contributions foster parents make to the lives of children and youth in need.
