**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with theft related offences stemming from an incident that occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday, October 13th where credit cards are alleged to have been stolen from a person’s parked vehicle.

It is further alleged that a series of fraudulent purchases with the stolen credit cards were completed by two suspects at various retail outlets in Timmins later that same day.

Investigating Timmins Police Service officers were able to identify both suspects and locate one of the suspects allegedly involved in these incidents through the use of a review of video surveillance materials.

The suspect was arrested and taken into custody by the Timmins Police Service.
As a result of the incident, Alex LEBLANC, 29, of Timmins, Ontario, has been charged with:
– Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
– 4 counts of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was held in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
An arrest warrant has been issued for the second suspect allegedly involved in these incidents.
