Hunter earned an undergraduate degree from Western University, a Bachelor in Education from Althouse College at the University of Western Ontario and a Master of Arts in curriculum development from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto.

This wealth of experience will prove to be an asset to Northern College as it continues to strive for stronger student enrollment in an increasingly competitive provincial post-secondary market.

Northern College’s newly appointed Director of Marketing, Communications and External Relations.

“I look forward to joining the College’s team under the strong direction of President Gibbons and the admirable leadership of the Board of Governors to further advance Northern’s impressive strategic initiatives. I appreciate the learning experiences I obtained living and working in Western Canada, and am pleased to be returning to northern Ontario, the place that I call home.”

The set of challenging demographics that continue to arise throughout rural Canada, especially in northern Ontario centre on a declining elementary and secondary school student population. As Northern College strives to address this systemic challenge, it opted to provide strategic focus in the areas of marketing and domestic student recruitment through an organizational realignment within its management team.

Jaret Dicks will assume the role of Manager of Recruitment and Admissions, working to develop and oversee a strong, well-executed annual student recruitment campaign alongside the integration of domestic and international admissions staff to better harmonize Northern’s efforts to attract new students.

Northern College is confident that these organizational changes will better situate it to handle a changing post-secondary landscape and continue to build on its already established firm foundation in student recruitment, and contribute to renewed enrolment growth in 2020.
