**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service – Traffic Section is completing its investigation into a two-vehicle collision that occurred on a stretch of Hwy 101 east of the Bruce interchange at approximately 11:35 a.m. today.

The collision involved an eastbound pickup truck and a westbound passenger vehicle.
The Timmins Police Service officers investigating the collision are able to determine that the point of contact was in the centermost lane of the eastbound lanes of traffic.

The driver of the passenger vehicle has been transported to an area hospital for treatment for injuries sustained in the collision. The level of injury is undetermined at this time.


Both vehicles sustained damage rendering each un-drivable and were removed by tow trucks.
Traffic in both directions was rerouted for a considerable amount of time but the scene has since been cleared and traffic flows have returned to normal.


The matter remains under investigation at this time with charges pending.
The Timmins Police Service is seeking assistance in terms of eyewitnesses to the collision who can provide details pertinent to this collision. Those persons are asked to call the Timmins Police Service at 705-264-1201 and ask to speak to the Traffic Section.
