The Timmins Police Service is currently investigating a report of an incident potentially involving a firearm which occurred earlier this evening in the area of Sixth and Spruce Street North.

The matter remains under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division of the Timmins Police Service.

The Emergency Response Team (ERT) has been deployed in this area to perform a thorough search for any suspect(s) or evidence related to this occurrence; local residents should not be alarmed by the presence of officers in full tactical gear in the affected area for the next few hours?.

At present, no person has been identified or located as having been injured in relation to this event.

A strong Police presence has been deployed and a perimeter may be set up to restrict access to this area as a precautionary measure.
