**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has charged a local person with theft related offences stemming from an incident that occurred during the afternoon hours of Friday, March 6th at the Timmins LCBO outlet in Timmins.

A man was observed engaged in suspicious activity and asked to leave the store.
A review of video surveillance tape revealed the man had committed a theft.
Responding Timmins Police Service officers identified and located the man a short while later and took him into custody.

Upon arrest, he was found to be in possession of a quantity of a controlled substance.
As a result of the incident, Adam PORTER, 41, of Timmins, Ontario, has been charged with:
– Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
– Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

The accused had a bail hearing and was subsequently released from police custody on the strength of an Undertaking on strict conditions including having to attend at Provincial Court in Timmins on March 23rd to answer to the charges laid against him.
