**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has charged a local person with theft related offences stemming from an incident that occurred during the evening hours of Friday, March 13th at a local grocery store in Timmins.

The female subject was observed engaged in suspicious activity in the store and became assaultive when confronted by store loss prevention personnel.

Responding Timmins Police Service officers arrested the subject and took her into custody.
As a result of the incident, Anya LARABIE, 22, of Timmins, Ontario, has been charged with:
– Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Assault with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
– Fail To Comply With Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
– Fail To Comply With Release Documents contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against her.
