**CITY OF TIMMINS NEWS RELEASE**

Due to the ever-changing situation with COVID-19, and the closure of a large number of businesses, Timmins Transit has made further refinements to operations.

Effective tomorrow, Thursday, March 26, our Transit Terminal will be closed to the public (save for ONR customers), and we will be reducing our regular service to a Sunday Service, seven days per week, for both conventional and Handy Transit Services. This means that daily service will be as follows:
– 8:30am start
– 6:30pm last bus

Passengers are reminded to please check schedules before travelling.

“These changes are necessary in order to help mitigate the spread of this virus while still offering Transit service to our customers who rely on it most,” explained Director of Community & Development Services Mark Jensen.

“With the closing of many local businesses, including colleges, our ridership numbers have fallen significantly, and the need for extended Transit hours is not justified.”

Timmins Transit will continue to operate without requiring fares, along with requiring customers to enter and exit by the rear door only. , and with its enhanced disinfection and cleaning regiment.
