**TIMMINS AND DISTRICT HOSPITAL NEWS RELEASE**

Western Auto Sales has been a major donor of Timmins & District Hospital for over 23 years.
The car dealership’s generous $10,000 donation was supposed to be a sponsorship for the 2020 Hospital Gala.
When the event was cancelled Gord Wilson, Western Auto Sales owner, said he still wanted to follow through with his donation.

“In times of need the Hospital will be there for us, so I want to be there for the Hospital, we all need it at one point in our lives” Jason Laneville is the Executive Director of the Hospital Foundation and says that with current pressures on not for profits; we will need to rely on donors like Western to help propel fundraising efforts.”

“The Government funds the Hospital to operate; it doesn’t fund any equipment purchases or infrastructure renewal, that’s what we do.”

Western’s donation will be put towards the Foundations equipment list of priority needs.
The Hospital Foundation Gala, the biggest single fundraiser for the Foundation will return in the spring of 2021.
