**NIPISSING ATHLETICS NEWS RELEASE**

The Nipissing Lakers men’s hockey team has added three more recruits for the 2020-21 season, signing a defenceman and two forwards.

The Lakers are bringing in two strong NOJHL products, signing defenceman Josh Anderson and forwards Max Griffioen and Mackenzie Mindus.

Lakers head coach Mike McParland likes what all three players can bring to his lineup for the upcoming year and in the future.

“Josh comes to us having played this year in Timmins after having played in the Q with Rimouski. Josh is an above average skater. We’re looking for Josh to bring some dynamic offense from the back end. We learned last season you can not have enough defence,” McParland said.

Josh Anderson
Position: Defence
Height:6-foot-1
Weight: 165 lbs
Hometown: Port Perry, Ontario
Teams: Cobourg Cougars (OJHL), Rimouski Oceanic (QMJHL), Timmins Rock (NOJHL)

Strength/Style: My strengths as a player are making a good first pass and my skating ability. I play a good two-way game and I like joining the rush when possible. My time in the NOJHL, OJHL and QMJHL have helped me prepare for University hockey as I’ve learned over the past three years what it takes to play at the higher level. I’ve also learned good time management skills that I’ll use in my University career.

Expectations: I’m excited to start this new journey of University and becoming a Laker. My expectations for next season are to work with Mike and his coaching staff to develop my own personal game and to work with my teammates on our game as a group. Looking forward to a great first year.

Stats: OJHL – 11 Games, 1 Assist, 1 Point
QMJHL – 19 Games, 2 Assists, 2 Points
NOJHL – 130 Games, 23 Goals, 78 Assists, 101 Points
