**PORCUPINE HEALTH UNIT NEWS RELEASE**


DAILY COVID-19 UPDATE FOR FRIDAY, MAY 15, 2020

Yesterday, the Porcupine Health Unit (PHU) confirmed a sixth COVID-19 related death. The individual was in her sixties having tested positive for COVID-19 on April 13, 2020. Her death was not related to an institutional outbreak. “On behalf of the PHU, we extend our deepest condolences to her family and friends,” said Dr. Lianne Catton, Medical Officer of Health.

There have been no new positive cases in the PHU area in the last 24 hours and the total number of confirmed positive cases is 65, 7 of which remain active. For more information, see phu.fyi/coronavirus.

Yesterday, the Ontario government announced that additional seasonal services and activities will be permitted to open Saturday May 16, 2020. Furthermore, additional businesses and services will be permitted to open or expand their services on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, provided that the general trend on health indicators continues to improve.
