**PORCUPINE HEALTH UNIT NEWS RELEASE**

DAILY COVID-19 UPDATE FOR TUESDAY, JUNE 2, 2020

There have been no new positive cases in the Porcupine Health Unit (PHU) area since May 10, 2020. The total number of confirmed positive cases is 65, 1 of which remains active. As of yesterday, over 5,175 COVID-19 tests have been completed in our region. For more information, see phu.fyi/coronavirus.

More people are using cloth masks to help protect themselves and others, but cloth masks should not replace physical distancing. Wear your mask correctly: cover your mouth and nose with the mask, making sure there are no gaps between your face and your mask. Avoid touching your face when wearing your mask and make sure your hands are clean when putting it on and taking it off.

Any PHU resident who feels they need a test for COVID-19, even if they don’t have symptoms, can go for testing at an assessment centre. Call your health care provider or the health unit to access testing.

Continue with measures like physical distancing, wearing a face covering where physical distancing may be challenging, frequent handwashing and staying home when you are sick.

To promote a positive sense of wellbeing take breaks from the news, reframe your thoughts and keep things in perspective rather than thinking of worse-case scenarios, spend time outdoors, be active, eat a healthy well-balanced diet and stay connected to others.

Our COVID-19 Information line is open today from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Call the toll-free number, 1-800-461-1818, or the PHU office in your community. See phu.fyi/offices for local contact numbers.

Stay home if you are not well. Stay safe. Stay positive!
