**PORCUPINE HEALTH UNIT NEWS RELEASE**

DAILY COVID-19 UPDATE FOR WEDNESDAY, JUNE 17, 2020

There have been no new positive cases in the Porcupine Health Unit (PHU) area since May 10, 2020. The total number of confirmed positive cases is 65. No cases are currently active.
As we continue to ramp up businesses and services in Stage 2, we should recognize that it’s because our region has been doing the hard work of following the public health guidelines. So let’s keep it up! More than ever, Stage 2 will require business owners and the public to work together, keeping everybody safe.

The Ontario government is providing employers with a new general workplace guide, which will help them develop a safety plan to better protect workers, customers and clients. You can access the downloadable toolkit here: https://bit.ly/37AtX1X. For more information on what measures you can take to reduce the spread of COVID-19, see our business page: phu.fyi/covid-business or call the Stop the Spread Business Information Line at 1-888-444-3659.

When out, follow the protocols put in place by businesses and workplaces. If you’re sick, please stay home and call to get tested. Always use proper coughing and sneezing etiquette, wash your hands often, use hand sanitizer, and do not touch your face. When you are around people outside of your social circle: keep 2 metres between yourself and others or wear a mask where that’s not possible.

Our COVID-19 Information line is open today from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Call the toll-free number, 1-800-461-1818, or the PHU office in your community. See phu.fyi/offices for local contact numbers.

Stay home if you have symptoms. Stay safe.
