**PORCUPINE HEALTH UNIT NEWS RELEASE**


This afternoon, Dr. Lianne Catton, Medical Officer of Health, Porcupine Health Unit
released more information about a recently confirmed case of COVID-19.

“Through our investigation, we have learned of a potential exposure to members of the Rick’s Muscle
World Centre gym in Hearst on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 and Wednesday, October 21,
2020 between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.”

We are asking individuals who were at the gym during this time to self-monitor for 14 days, which ends on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 or Thursday, November 5, 2020. An infected person can spread COVID-19 starting 48 hours (or 2 days) before the person had any symptoms or tested positive for COVID-19. Symptoms include:

Typical Symptoms, Atypical Symptoms, Fever Unexplained fatigue or malaise, New or worsening cough Muscle aches, Shortness of breath Delirium, Loss of sense of smell or taste Unexplained or increased number of falls,
Sore throat/hoarse voice, Acute functional decline, Difficulty swallowing, Exacerbation of current chronic conditions,
Runny nose or nasal congestion Chills, Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, Headaches, Croup, Conjunctivitis.

If you were at the gym and are experiencing symptoms, self-isolate at home and call the Porcupine Health Unit COVID-19 Information Line at 705-267-1181 or 1-800-461-1818. The PHU is working with Rick’s Muscle World Centre to implement the public health measures to protect both members and staff and prevent the transmission of COVID-19 in the community.

To reduce the risk of exposure, we ask that you continue to follow public health measures:
? stay home and isolate if you have any symptoms
? practice 2 metres physical distancing
? wash your hands often with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer
? sneeze and cough into your sleeve
? avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
? wear a mask in indoor public spaces
? wear a mask indoors in and outdoors when physical distancing of 2 metres/6 feet
cannot be maintained.
