**TEMISKAMING OPP NEWS RELEASE**


On July 31, 2018 shortly after midnight, members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call for a traffic complaint in Cobalt, Ontario. The vehicle was located and stopped on Main Street in Temiskaming Shores, Ontario. Further investigation revealed that the female driver had been consuming alcohol.

Shelby LOACH, 20-years-old, of Kerns Township, Ontario is arrested and charged with the following:

 

  • Drive while ability impaired, contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (C.C.),

 

  • Drive with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the C.C.,

 

  • Possession of a schedule II substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (C.D.S.A.),

 

  • Possession of a schedule II substance – Methamphetamine, contrary to section 4(1) of the C.D.S.A, and

 

  • Breach of recognizance, contrary to section 811 of the C.C.

  

The vehicle was towed from the scene, and impounded for seven days. The accused was released by way of Promise to Appear (PTA). She is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on August 14, 2018, in Haileybury, Ontario.
