**CITY OF TIMMINS NEWS RELEASE**

The City of Timmins has learned that a false document titled “Cost Estimates for Timmins New Multi-Use Recreation Centre” is being shared in online forums.

The City of Timmins confirms that this document never originated from the City and the figures it quotes are inaccurate. The document and circulation of it have been provided to the Timmins Police Service. Should anyone encounter documents being circulated online with no signing authority or contact information, and have questions regarding their accuracy, they are asked to directly contact City of Timmins CAO Dave Landers or Corporate Communications Coordinator Heather Duhn.

A preliminary cost estimate was completed as part of the feasibility study presented to Council on July 11, 2016 (http://timminson.swagit.com/play/07112016-840).

On August 14, 2018 a presentation was made to Council on a final design. Should a future Council wish to move forward with this project, the preliminary cost estimate would have to be updated with the new information in the final design.
