**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE MEDIA RELEASE**

The Timmins Police Service is extending a public invitation to the general public and the local media in regards to the local DARE Program’s Smile Cookie fundraising campaign.

In simple terms “It’s that time of year again! SMILE COOKIES!!!”

The DARE Smile Cookie fundraising campaign kickoff will occur at the Tim Horton’s restaurant location near the old J&B location at 2:00 p.m. on the afternoon of Thursday, September 13th

The actual sale of Smile Cookies will begin next Monday (September 17th), but DARE program representatives wish to have the information made as publicly as possible so that bulk orders can be received.

The Timmins Police Service is thankful to enjoy its ongoing partnership with the DARE program as a valued community partner that focuses on curriculum based empowerment of youth in terms awareness and education regarding the inherent dangers linked to experimentation with controlled substances and peer pressure management strategies.
