**KAPUSKASING OPP NEWS RELEASE**


On October 2, 2018 at approximately 9:15 a.m. Kapuskasing officers of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break and enter occurrence on Borden Avenue in the Town of Kapuskasing, Ontario.

Police investigation revealed that a male had broken into a residence and had stolen various property including firearms.

Brian LEBEL, 30 years of age, from Kapuskasing, Ontario has been arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Break and Enter a Place and Steal a Firearm contrary to section 98(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC),
  • Break, Enter a Dwelling House With Intent to Commit Indictable Offence contrary to section 348(1)(a) CC,
  • Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition contrary to section 86(1) CC,
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm contrary to section 92(1) CC.

 

All firearms have been recovered by police.

The accused has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cochrane on October 5, 2018 to answer to the charges.
