Timmins Mayor Steve Black is back in China to build on another economic opportunity.

He is signing a business agreement to bring an insulation plant to the rail industrial park developing in the city’s east end.

To help the process, Black is also signing a ‘friendship city’ agreement with Yi Zheng City, a city of 600,000 people and the home of Jiangsu Tianlong Continuous Basalt Fibre Company’s current insulation manufacturing facility.

The agreement will help down the line with further economic, educational and tourism partnerships and opportunities.

For more details on this, READ Black’s letter to council as found in Monday’s council package.  You can also find a memo with the currently unsigned agreement between Tianlong Basalt and Timmins HERE.
