**TIMMINS AND DISTRICT MULTICULTURAL CENTRE NEWS RELEASE**

The Timmins and District Multicultural Centre (TDMC) in partnership with College Boréale, Université de Hearst and Le Centre Culturel Laronde is hosting a celebration Thursday November 8th from 4 to 6pm at College Boréale. This event aims to celebrate the contribution of immigrants to the vitality of Canada’s French-speaking minority communities, and promote the achievements of the communities themselves in terms of recruiting, welcoming and integrating newcomers.

We are celebrating the positive impact that French-speaking immigrants bring to the City of Timmins. The event will include a musical performance from Francophone Award Winning Artist Cindy Doire and a proclamation declaring the week as the National Francophone Immigration week from the Mayor. Refreshments will be served.

National Francophone Immigration Week is an initiative of the Fédération des communautés francophones et acadienne du Canada and the Francophone Immigration Networks, made possible through financial support from Citizenship and Immigration Canada and the participation of many partners.

We invite our Timmins community to join us on Thursday November 8th from 4 to 6pm for the proclamation and celebration! Please contact Sylvie Lamothe to RSVP for this event at 705-495-8623 or via email sylvielamothe@timminsmulticultural.ca
