pink shirt1Firefighters in Timmins are feeling a little “pink” this month.

That’s because they are wearing and selling t-shirts throughout the month of October in support of the Breast Wellness Centre at Timmins Hospital.

It’s their 2nd Annual event, and are hoping to top their totals from last year of over $1,600.

Timmins Professional Firefighters Association President Scott Atkinson says keeping the money local is very important, especially in this day and age.

“The way the economy is going down, and has been down for quite some time,” he said.

“And everyone’s been affected by breast cancer and this is a great cause for us to get involved in.”

Atkinson says they will be selling t-shirts all October long, and also accept straight cash donations as well towards the cause.

Firefighters will be wearing the shirts every Monday and Friday and you can join them in the fun.

T-shirts are $20 each, and can be picked up at the fire station on Cedar Street South. Fore more information, call 705-360-2626.
