**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man stemming from a dispute involving a physical assault which occurred yesterday afternoon in Schumacher.

Officers with the Timmins Police Service responded to the dispute and gathered the necessary details regarding a dispute between two men that involved an alleged assault and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

These officers were able to identify and arrest the person allegedly responsible for the alleged offences that took place stemming from the dispute.

As a result of the incident, Richard VAILLANCOURT, 42, of Timmins, has been charged with:
– Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Assault with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Breach of Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
