faceoff for funds 2015The puck is about to drop on another 24-hour session of hockey at the McIntyre Arena.

It’s the 4th Annual Rotary Faceoff for Funds, and all proceeds are going towards the Timmins Hospital’s emergency room.

Rotary Board Member Darren Taylor says he hates to say it, but everyone needs the emergency room at some point, and is happy to contribute to the cause.

Contribute, the Rotary Club certainly is, with another $10,000 to start off the campaign.

This is the second straight year they’ve done so, as part of their three-year commitment to the fundraiser.

Timmins and District Hospital Foundation Executive Director Janna Burke says teams can start registering on Monday, October 5th, and you can do it by either visiting tadhfoundation.com, or by contacting the Foundation office at 705-360-6039.  You can also visit the office on the first floor at TDH.

Team registration is $400, and you’re also encouraged to do some fundraising leading up to the event.

Burke adds the games are all for fun, and all skill levels are welcome.

That’s not all, as the Friday night will also feature a concert with Jack and the Ripperz, and you can purchase tickets for that starting October 13th at either the Foundation office or Steinerg & Mahn on the corner of Mountjoy and Wilson.
