**KIRKLAND LAKE OPP NEWS RELEASE**


On November 22, 2018 shortly after 4:00 a.m., members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), and the Kirkland Lake Emergency Medical Service (EMS), responded to a call for a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 11 in Otto Township, Ontario. 

Further investigation revealed that the tractor trailer had been travelling northbound on Highway 11, struck the shoulder which resulted in the commercial motor vehicle flipping sideways in the northbound ditch. The commercial motor vehicle remained at the scene and was being removed during daylight hours today. 

The driver of the vehicle, Christopher ROBBINS, 54-years-old, of Emsdale, Ontario sustained no injuries and is charged with:

  • Unsafe move-lane or shoulder, contrary to section 154(1) (a) of the Highway Traffic Act (H.T.A.) 

 

On November 22, 2018 at 9:45 a.m. Highway 11 Otto Township was closed in both directions to remove the commercial vehicle from the ditch. The highway was re-opened at approximately 12:20 p.m.
