**SOUTH PORCUPINE FOOD BANK NEWS RELEASE**

The South Porcupine Food Bank Inc. board of directors would like to express our humble thanks to the generous public, Giant Tiger, Metro and Dollarama in donating a total of $810 and an estimated 800 pounds of food at our GivingTuesday events “Fill The Van” at Porcupine Mall and “Thank You Supporters Open House.” Additional food was also donated in the food bin at Food Basics.

We also give many thanks to Socks Timmins who dropped off several hundreds of pairs of socks to the food bank van at Porcupine Mall, for us to give to our clients!

Including other donations that we have recently received just prior to yesterday, a total of $1,485 has been raised towards our $20,000 year-end goal. Thank you for the great kick off towards reaching this important goal. Our monthly operating costs are $5,000 to $6,000 per month and run by 30 volunteers.

We have “stocking stuffers” left at $20 and $10 each (income tax receipts issued), so please contact us if you are interested.

You may also make secure on-line donations at Canada Helps, where you will also receive your income tax receipt sent to your e-mail, and the funds are direct deposited to our bank account.
