**TEMISKAMING OPP NEWS RELEASE**


On November 26, 2018 shortly after 7:00 a.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Temiskaming District Emergency Medical Service (EMS) and the Englehart and Area Fire Department responded to a call for a motor vehicle collision on Highway 11 between Chamberlain Road 4 and Chamberlain Road 5, north of Englehart, Ontario. 

Further investigation revealed that one tractor trailer was travelling northbound and the other was southbound, when the two collided.  One of the commercial vehicles contained fuel and was leaking as a result of the collision. The highway had to be closed in both directions for several hours, for cleanup of the spill. 

The northbound driver sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries. The southbound driver and passenger sustained minor injuries. All parties were transported to hospital.

Dragisa POSTIC, a 57-year-old male, of Stoney Creek, Ontario is charged with the following:

  • Careless driving, contrary to section 130(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (H.T.A.)

 

Both vehicles were towed from the scene, and the highway has since re-opened.
