**JAMES BAY OPP NEWS RELEASE**

On December 23, 2018, at 8:41 p.m., members of the James Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Bay Road in the Town of Moosonee, Ontario.  

Police and the Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) Paramedic Service attended the scene and located an adult female with serious injuries. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. 

Monique LAZARUS, age 51, of Moosonee, Ontario, has been charged with: 

 

  • Aggravated Assault, contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code.

 

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on December 24, 2018, for a bail hearing.
