**KIRKLAND LAKE OPP NEWS RELEASE**


On September 13, 2018 Provincial Constable Brandon Warmington of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a bicycle theft that occurred in the Town of Kirkland Lake. After speaking to the mother of the young victim it was determined that Police didn’t have sufficient evidence to proceed with the investigation and the bike was never recovered.

Provincial Constable Warmington later found out the father of the young victim had passed away from cancer. Provincial Constable Warmington knew that the family was going through a rough time financially and emotionally as well.

Provincial Constable Warmington then sought advice from Provincial Constable Dan Senf. The two officers than applied through the Youth Development Fund through the OPP Youth Foundation. The application was later approved to send $300 for a new bike and helmet.

On December 25, 2018 Provincial Constable’s Warmington and Senf dropped off the new bike, and helmet from the OPP.

Congratulations to Provincial Constable Warmington and Senf on a wonderful Christmas story. Provincial Constable Warmington and Senf went above and beyond to make a positive impact on this young person and her family.
