**KIRKLAND LAKE OPP NEWS RELEASE**

On December 30, 2018, at approximately 2:18 a.m., members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a fight at a local bar on Day Avenue in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ontario.   There was a complaint reported of numerous people fighting within the establishment. Police attended and after an investigation, one female was arrested and charged.  

Brooks SAMPSON, 23 years of age, from Timmins, Ontario, was charged with:  

  • Assault X4, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Assault with intent to resist arrest contrary to section 270(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC), and
  • Being intoxicated in public place contrary to section 31(4) of the Liquor Licence Act.  

 

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake, Ontario on January 31, 2019.
