The city is lighting up your life a little more.

52 new LED street lights are going up across the city to address complaints regarding dark spots after the original retro fit took place last year.

This change will cost the city $100,000, putting the total cost of the project at around $2.75 million dollars.

They estimate these new lights will cost $2,900 a year to operate.

Here’s the breakdown of where lights will be installed (with the amount of lights on that street in brackets).

  • Gordon Avenue (1)
  • Craig Street (3)
  • Power and Joseph area (3)
  • Elm and Cody area (4)
  • Cedar and Sixth area (5)
  • Wende and Mountjoy area (4)
  • Murdock area (3)
  • Brousseau and Maple N. area (3)
  • Algonquin and Mountjoy intersection (2)
  • Miscellaneous areas in Schumacher (Croatia Street area) (5)
  • Miscellaneous areas in South Porcupine (Hellen and Helmer area) (5)
  • Various locations not captured in original survey (14)

The city is hoping to have these lights installed by the end of November.
