**JAMES BAY OPP NEWS RELEASE**


During the morning of January 19, 2019, members of the North East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence on Prince Street in the Town of Hearst, Ontario.

 

A female and a male were arrested and police seized Methamphetamine and Canadian currency with a combined estimated street value of $3500.

 

Renee-Pier FONTAINE, 29-years-old, of Hearst, Ontario, has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine contrary to section 5(2) CDSA.

 

Miguel LACHANCE, 34-years-old, of Hearst, Ontario, has been charged with the following offences:

 

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine contrary to section 5(2) CDSA, and
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine contrary to section 4(1) CDSA.

 

They are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Hearst, Ontario, on February 20, 2019, to answer to the charges.
