**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has charged two local men stemming from an incident at a Maple Street North residence which occurred on Saturday, January 26th.

Responding Timmins Police Service officers completed their investigation which indicates that one of the men attended at the residence and entered into a verbal argument with the resident.

The argument escalated to a point where it became physical and both men assaulted the other for a period of time.

At one point weapons of opportunity were used by one of the men which resulted in severe injury to the other man.

As a result of the incident, Stephen SEAWARD, 50, of Timmins, has been charged with:
– Aggravated Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Assault with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody and is currently awaiting a bail hearing at Provincial Court in Timmins this morning to answer to the charge laid against him.

Additionally, Leeroy WYNNE, 45, of Timmins, and who remains in hospital at present, has been charged with:
– 2 counts of Assault with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Utter Threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Fail To Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody and is currently awaiting a bail hearing at Provincial Court in Timmins this morning to answer to the charge laid against him.
