**KIRKLAND LAKE OPP NEWS RELEASE**


On Thursday January 24, 2019, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence on McCamus Avenue in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ontario.  

As a result of the police investigation, two people were arrested and charged. 

Jonathan WELCH, age 30, of Kirkland Lake, Ontario, is charged with the following:

  • Break, Enter a Dwelling House with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Theft Under $5000 – contrary to section 334(b) of the CC,
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 – contrary to section 355(b) of the CC, and
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC.

 

Mandy GLEMBUS, age 29, of Kirkland Lake, Ontario, is charged with the following:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, contrary to section 355(b) of the CC.

 

Both accused were released on a Promise to Appear to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, on March 7, 2019.
