**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**

Timmins Police Service – Traffic Section officers conducted a one-day enforcement initiative focused on snow-covered vehicles being driven without the driver taking the necessary precautions required of them.

A total of 11 Provincial Offence Notices were issued for:

– Obstructed Plate
– No Clear View To Front
– No Clear View to Rear

all contrary to the pertinent sections of the Highway Traffic Act.

It is hoped this initiative will resonate with the motoring public in Timmins to take the time necessary to operate a vehicle safely and responsibly during the winter season.

Collisions linked to visibility related issues are deemed to be preventable when the driver takes the time necessary to create and ensure a clear view has been established as required by statute.
