**TEMISKAMING OPP NEWS RELEASE**

On February 16, 2019 at approximately 2:00 a.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a motor vehicle on Lakeshore Road South in the City of Temiskaming Shores, Ontario. Further investigation revealed that the male driver had been consuming alcohol.

Ryan GERRARD, 29-years-old, of Hilliard Township, Ontario is arrested and charged with the following:

 

  • Adult operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), contrary to section 320(14)(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC),

 

  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited device or ammunition, contrary to section 94 of the CC,

 

  • Possessing Counterfeit Money – have in custody, contrary to section 450(b) of the CC,

 

  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit, contrary to section 7(1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA),

 

  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor, contrary to section 32(1) of the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).

 

The vehicle was towed from the scene, and impounded. The accused was released by way of Promise to Appear (PTA). He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 5, 2019, in Haileybury, Ontario.
