**KIRKLAND LAKE OPP NEWS RELEASE**

On February 21, 2019, members of the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a snow complaint on Day Avenue in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ontario. The complaint was that a backhoe was removing snow from private property and placing it onto the Town of Kirkland Lake’s property.  

Further investigation revealed that the operator of the backhoe was prohibited from driving and was charged as a result.  

William SIMPSON, age 62, of Kirkland Lake, Ontario, has been charged with,  

  • Operation While Prohibited, contrary to section 320.18 of the Criminal Code.

 

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, on March 21, 2019.
