**KIRKLAND LAKE OPP NEWS RELEASE**

On February 23, 2019, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a theft on McCamus Avenue in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ontario.  

Further investigation revealed that a confrontation had taken place and that the victim sustained minor injuries. As a result of the investigation a local man was arrested and charged.  

Jordan LEGACY, age 26, from Kirkland Lake, Ontario, was charged with the following:  

  •  Assault, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Theft Under $5000, contrary to section 334(b) of the CC, and
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC.

 

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Temiskaming Shores, Ontario, on February 27, 2019.
