** Timmins Police News Release**


The Timmins Police Service has charged two local women stemming from separate incidents over the weekend which resulted in arrests.
During the late evening hours of Saturday, March 23rd, a verbal argument between two women is alleged to have occurred on Cedar Street North. It is further alleged that at one point one of the women struck the other from behind resulting in a head injury.
The 21 year old women who sustained the injury was brought to Timmins and District Hospital for medical treatment and released.
Responding Timmins Police Service officers were able to identify, locate and arrest the suspect who was located a short while later.
As a result of this investigation, Manon LEVESQUE, 30, of Timmins, has been charged with:
– Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused was held in police custody for the purposes of a bail hearing slated for the morning of March 25th at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against her.
In an unrelated matter, the Timmins Police responded to a disturbance at a downtown bar where an assault is alleged to have occurred where a verbal argument between two women escalated to the point where one of the women struck the other.
In this instance, the 21 year old women who sustained the injury did not require medical treatment.
Responding Timmins Police Service officers were able to identify, locate and arrest the suspect without incident.
As a result of this investigation, Allison SMALL, 27, of Timmins, has been charged with:
– Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– 3 counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
