**KIRKLAND LAKE OPP NEWS RELEASE**

On April 1, 2019, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Kirkland Lake Detachment responded to a complaint of sexual assault on a young female which had occurred in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ontario.   

As a result of the investigation, 23-year-old male from Kirkland Lake, Ontario, was charged with the following;  

  •  Sexual Assault on Person Under 16 Years of Age Cause Bodily Harm, contrary to section 272(1)(c) of the Criminal Code (CC), and
  • Sexual Interference, contrary to section 151 of the CC.

 

The accused has been remanded into custody, pending bail.
