Monument Salesperson and Front Office Administrator

Start Date: Immediately

Job Requirements

-Full Class G Drivers Licence with clean driving abstract

-Fully Bilingual

-High School Grade 12 Diploma

-Experience on Excel and other computer programs

-Accounting and customer service/sales experience is an asset

Description:

In this multi task position, the employee will be required to become completely adept in the area of monument sales and design as well as front office (funeral home) administration, some bookkeeping and reception. The main focus for the first 3 months will be on monument sales as extensive training is required.

 

Monument Sales:

Will be responsible to meet with client families to present them with detailed information on monuments, provide quotes and/or complete sales, discuss the manufacturing process, design and cemetery regulations. Will oversee installation process, work with our new contractor and our installation staff, order products, be required to submit monthly sales reports to the office bookkeeper, obtain installation permits and schedule staff. Will work alongside our current monument manager, Chet Hartling, who will provide training.

 

Front Office Administrator:

Will be responsible to assist the funeral directors in their daily administrative duties including completion of government documents, issuing death certificates, obtaining burial and cremation permits, registration of death, personalization of funeral stationary and enhancing photos, uploading website pages, receiving payments, issuing invoices, closing files, maintaining office supplies, etc.

 

Front office duties will also include greeting clients and visitors, tending to their needs, answering telephones, running errands, interior building maintenance, receiving donations, assist setting up of funerals/flowers.

 

This position also requires that the employee be responsible for our keepsake cremation  urn sales area. She will be responsible for sales of these cremation products to clients as well as ordering and maintaining the display area and inventory of these products. There will be other areas where it is expected the employee can and will meet with clients for other product sales such as memorial cards and other related memorialization products.

 

Employee will also be responsible to assist the bookkeeper and owner in the area of the administration and distribution of large amounts of donation funds as well as other accounting duties such as providing monthly sales reports on excel.

 

There will also be monthly accounting duties required in the area of pre-paid funerals where data will be entered and tracked on excel spreadsheets and monthly reports presented as required by the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act of Ontario.

Training for this position is also extensive as the funeral profession is unlike any other in many aspects.
