**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**

The Timmins Police Service has charged two men with Impaired Operation offences stemming from two recent and separate events reported to the police for investigation.
During the afternoon hours of Monday, May 6th, a Timmins Police Service officer responded to a call regarding a disoriented man in a vehicle in a school area in Schumacher.
The vehicle and driver were located and the officer completed an onsite interview.

Based on the outcome of the interview of the driver and the officer’s observations, the driver was arrested and taken to the Timmins Police station where a Timmins Police Service – Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) completed a DRE evaluation.
Based on the outcome of the series of comprehensive tests and observations made by the DRE, Daniel LACHANCE, 43, of Timmins has been charged with:
– Operating While Impaired by Drugs or Alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released from police custody but is required to attend Provincial Court on June 4th to answer to the charge laid against him.
In a separate incident, during the noon hour of Wednesday, May 8th, a Timmins Police Service officer responded to a call regarding a disoriented motorist in the downtown core of Timmins.
The vehicle and driver were located and based on the outcome of the interview of the driver, an arrest was completed by the officer and the driver was transported to the Timmins Police station.

A Timmins Police Service – Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) was called upon to complete a DRE evaluation. Based on the outcome of the series of requisite tests and observations made by the DRE, Max-Yvens JOLY, 27, of Ottawa has been charged with:
– Operating While Impaired by Drugs or Alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was released from police custody but is required to attend Provincial Court on May 28th to answer to the charge laid against him.
