city hallConstruction activities for Phase 1 of the Connecting Link Project have begun in Timmins, thanks to a $3 Million funding announcement from the Provincial Government’s Connecting Link Program.

For the week of September 19 – September 23 – The Bruce Avenue intersection will continue to be closed for paving operations. Motorists are advised to follow posted detour signs.

Paving operations on Highway 101 will continue from September 19-23. Paving operations may also take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 17 and 18, weather permitting.

Beginning on September 19, the westbound lanes will be closed from Tisdale Cemetery to Bruce Avenue for paving operations. One lane of traffic in each direction will be provided in the eastbound lanes. Lane closure and advance warning signs will continue to be posted.

Motorists are urged to slow down through the construction zone and observe the maximum 60km/h speed signs.

The City of Timmins is committed to providing its residents with regular updates throughout this project, and more information will follow as work progresses.
