**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has arrested a local man stemming from a
robbery at a Schumacher convenience store which is alleged to have occurred during
the early morning hours of Monday, June 24th.

Responding Timmins Police Service officers completed a comprehensive crime scene
investigation which included deployment of officers from the Criminal Investigation
Division as well as the Forensic Identifications Section.
Based on the investigation, the identity of the suspect was determined and an arrest
warrant was sought and obtained by the Timmins Police Service in the name of the
accused person.

The suspect was located and arrested without incident yesterday afternoon by the
Timmins Police Service.

During the course of the investigation, it is further alleged the accused was found to be
in possession of a quantity of a controlled substance.
As a result of this incident, Nathan HAMELIN, 32, of Timmins, was taken into custody
and is charged with
– Robbery With a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Disguise With Intent contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances
Act
The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at
Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
